What to eat for acid reflux: The best fruits for an Acid Reflux Diet
Step 1:
Choose fruits that are alkaline forming, such as Golden Delicious apples, bananas and dates. Other foods that are alkaline forming are pink grapefruit, Bing cherries, Bosc and Japanese pears, plums , apricots, dark berries, Flame and Concord grapes, kumquats, lemons (if they ripened on the tree), mango, kiwi, melons and one kind of white-fleshed peach called Spring Snow.
Step 2:
Also choose papaya and pineapples. They are helpful because have enzymes that aid digestion
Step 3:
Avoid the following fruits that are acid forming, such as red and green apples, blueberries, light cherries, coconut, Bartlett pears, persimmons, cranberried, Thompson grapes, white grapefruit, limes, green lemons, oranges, prunes, raisins, raspberries, strawberries , tangerines, nectarines and most peaches.
Step 4:
Tomato is another fruit you must avoid due to its high acidic content.
Tips & Warnings
* Stick to fresh fruits. Avoid any fruits that are dried, sugared or glazed. Sugar is a culprit for acid reflux.
* In order to not aggravate symptoms, do not eat for 3 hours before bedtime. Wait at least 3 hours after eating before lying down.
* Adapt this list to your own personal experience. If a fruit that is suitable for someone with this problem actually aggravates you, it will be best to avoid
